The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and stretches over an area of about 3000 km. The reef is home to 400 different types of coral, 1500 species of fish, 200 species of fish and 20 different types of reptiles.

Brunelleschi's Dome

Brunelleschi's dome was design by an Italian goldsmith Filippo Brunelleschi in the 12th century. The dome was revolutionary for its time and still continues to tower over Florence. It was the first dome of its size and design and is still considered an architectural masterpiece. The pattern of the bricklaying allowed the weight of the bricks to be directed outwards towards the supports instead of inwards. This technique is still used today.

My own piece of work

This was my first major piece of work in architecture. The domes of the Opera House where made up of thin strips of mat and shinny paper woven together to represent the glowing effect of the tiles on the Opera House.
